Welcome to Our School!

Welcome to KCES!

Thanks for looking us upon the web!  We hope you find our website helpful.  It is continually a work in progress. We appreciate your patience as we construct and maintain a site in which our community may take pride.

For those who are unfamiliar with KCES, we are a large K - 5 elementary school, with some pre-school offerings, located in quiet, rural area of Northwest Indiana.  Aside from our regular classroom opportunies, we offer many specials classes (Music, Art, PE, Computer Applications, and Science Lab).  We also host a full complement of special needs classes.  Being a large elementary school, we have a variety of extra-curricular offerings (5th Grade Basketball, Student Council, Bell Choir, Science Club, and Tech Tribe).

If you would like to visit us in person, please feel free to give us a call and arrange a time.
Enjoy your internet visit!

School Grade

Knox Community Elementary School is pleased to announce the school has been awarded an "A" grade by the Indiana Department of Education.

KCES would like to thank our outstanding students, truly inspiring teachers, great parents, supportive staff, and an amazing community for all their work helping our students achieve success!

Whatever it takes, Knox students are worth it!

Vision Statement:

Knox Schools are schools of choice where all students learn in a comprehensive, rigorous, and technologically current educational environment. Student-centered programs develop leadership skills and the individual interests of the students. Students are supported by personnel with high expectations and integrity.

Effective communication, positive interactions, and transparent, fiscally responsible decisions form a relationship of trust and respect between the school and community.  Prioritizing and maintaining a safe, productive learning environment make Knox Schools a source of pride in the community.

  • Visitors are to follow these guidelines to allow our teachers to best utilize teaching time with their students.

    • 1. Use the main office, Door #1 (Horseshoe Drive), when entering our building and sign in at the main office.

    • Report to the office any time you are in the building, sign the register, and receive a badge.

    • Leave all packages, lunch boxes, homework, etc. in the office.  The student will be allowed to come to the office to pick them up.

    • Make appointments with the teachers to talk about your child’s progress.  Teachers are not to stop teaching to talk to parents.

    • If you are picking up your children after school, park on the northeast playground, enter the building, and follow the posted dismissal procedures.

    • All parents and the public are considered visitors to the school.
